Kikkoman Designer Bottle
Kikkoman Designer Bottle for Kikkoman Corporation (1961)
The innovative design of this dispenser combines good function with an aesthetic sense, the curved silhouette and tastefully minimal lettering evoke simplicity and elegance; the perfectly designed shape of the pourer allows the user to pour out even minute amounts of soy sauce without dripping. The Kikkoman bottle unites practicality and functionality in a very creative design and is still sold worldwide since being introduced in 1961. In 2003, Kenji Ekuan received the Lucky Strike Designer Award for his soy sauce dispenser. The dispenser bottle is now part of the Design Centre North Rhine Westphalia‘s exhibition, and it is also on exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
