Yamaha Motorcycle YZF-R1

YZF-R1 Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd.

For 2009, the R1 was designed continuing the  longstanding R1 identity of twin “Evil-Eye” headlights pared to a compact and race-inspired body. The twin headlight design was debuted in 2000 and has been a feature of the R1′s styling ever since; the R1′s aggressive styling language has proven to be iconic as it has influenced almost the entire line of Yamaha powersports products. The body’s compact proportions were based on extensive aerodynamic modeling, and created to slice through the air like a knife. The motorcycle as a whole is an expression of the dynamism and animalistic design expression which is a hallmark of GK powersports design.

The motorcycle itself boasts the same electronic Throttle control developed for the M1 MotoGP bikes as well as the Cross Plane Crankshaft, the first production motorcycle to do so.
